I've looked in several locations (including here) and can't find the definition of error #8. Can anyone point me to a comprehensive list of errors for this vehicle? Or, simply what error 8 is?

Are you sure its a 8? Usually the first long blink is a 10.

Well, that's what I have a 1987 CA wagon w/AT. How do I get past this to the error that's causing the CL to be on. I watched it blink 8 short times for a while (~10 minutes).

Thanks for the link, I have the 3 speed AT.

If you have no error codes and the CEL is still on, the problem may be internally with the ECU. The light driver circuit may be bad. I have repaired those in the past with a new IC. The circuit is basically a transistor switch to ground.
