January 3, 200719 yr is there anything i need to look out for while swapping the clutch off the bad engine to the good automatic engine?
January 8, 200719 yr umm clutch.....automatics dont have clutches, they have torque converters, manuals and automatics, TOTALLY different in operation. Sooo uhhh yea there could be complications on putting the clutch in the automatic, lol, it wont have a place to go. Oh but im thinking you mean the engine that had the automatic. shoulda said that more clearly. Some1 should know if the flywheels are the same for autos and manuals
January 8, 200719 yr Author i said that clear as crystal. i was working on a car with a bad engine, it has a 5 speed tranny (engine had a clutch), i bought a good engine that came out of a RU with a automatic tranny. i needed to know if the clutch off the bad engine would bolt up to the good engine. but i did get it done. for those of you who want to know. its just a few bolts and a leverage bar and its off. it bolts right up to an engine that has a automatic set-up. (there is a certain way the bolts go on. the pattern will throw you off, you will be able to get all but 2 bolts in unless you get the bolt pattern right...
January 8, 200719 yr There's no flywheel on an auto - it's a torque converter with a steel mounting plate (called the flex plate) on the engine crank. You will have to use the complete flywheel/clutch from the manual engine. Use loctite blue on the flywheel mounting bolts as they are open to the crankcase and could leak oil of they vibrate loose. GD yea i got that. i took the whole assembly and swaped it. not just the clutch. lol:lol:

January 8, 200719 yr Author yea i learned that one late:rolleyes: i quess that how i learned alot of the stuff i know. (take it apart and see if i can put it back together:grin: ) does anyone have pics or vids of a gen 1 brat with a ej swap in it??
