So I have decided to sell my trusty Subaru wagon. I know I can check the KBB or Edmunds sites for some ideas on how much to sell the Subaru wagon, but I have added a few little upgrades and changes, so I am not sure what a true and fair asking price should be.

 

Here's what I have...

 

1987 1.8L SPFi Subaru GL wagon

Dual Range 4WD, 5 speed

champagne gold

 

The odometer has over 200K on it, but I replaced the original engine with a used Japanese import at about 165K.

 

Magnecore spark plug wires

 

Accel Superstock ignition coil

 

K&N filtercharger

 

2" Dynomax superturbo muffler

 

Sylvania Silverstar headlamps

 

Foglights

 

Clarion ProAudio CD player

 

I had the wagon repainted a couple of years ago so the paint is in really good shape as well as the interior. I am in San Jose, CA. This have been my trusty snowboarding in Tahoe vehicle for the past few years. So what do you think would be a fair asking price???

Hard to say for your aera, but around here if I was in the market for a wagon like that I woud pay up to $2500 if it is in as good shape as U say. Do U have any paper work left from the engine R+R? If so I know that would make me(as a buyer) feel alot better.

Ebay recently had an auction for a 92 loyale with 60K miles and it sold for about $1100. Check the listings. As a general rule, you don't get your money out of all these mods.

 

I would say in the $1K to 2K range depending on where you are.

NEVER judge market value by what the ending price is on eBay. But Soobme is correct, market is the whole key, if there are alot of Subaru in your area, the price will tend to be lower, fewer the price might go higher. There are a few board member who live in your area, they may have a better idea of value.

2000 to 2500 is what you'd get rid of that for in alaska.. with the mods and stuff, maybe 3k

That's about the price range that I had hoped to be selling it for...

 

I had forgotten a couple of minor points. I did put in a new fuel pump less than 2 years ago, and it is leaking oil.

 

Also it seems to be running hot lately. I don't know what could be causing that. There is plenty of coolant. It doesn't go into the red, but the temp seems to be higher than what I think it usually is.

Put a new thermostat in it. That will help. All Soobs mark their territory, just some mark it more than others. It could need a reseal on the oil pump and cam seals.
