January 19, 200719 yr My mechanice says I have failing O-rings in auto trannie. Says it would be almost as expensive to replace them as to have have new trannie installed. Is this true?
January 19, 200719 yr If the transmission is truly shot, then I would recomend one those miracle in a can a products. If nothing else it might buy you some time.
January 19, 200719 yr If the tranny is the same as my 2000 Legacy AT, there is a known delayed engagement issue?? When mine went, SOA replaced the tranny under warranty but I think that's because they didn't want techs futzing around with tranny innards. The fix might not be so daunting for a tranny shop. Not sure. Lets back up. What symptons are you having (and yes he's right). nipper
January 19, 200719 yr like nipper said, what symptoms are you having? and yes auto trans are typically high cost to open up and repair. subaru auto trans are reliable enough that finding a good used trans and installing it is a economical and a wise choice if you can find one.
