GeneralDisorder
There are MANY ways to fix that. Personally, for the time involved, and the nature of aluminum, I would probably just go get another manifold from the JY. At any rate, you should remove the manifold to work on it, and cut off what remains of the stud. Center punch it, and drill the stud out - don't go too deep. Then tap the hole out, and use a bolt instead of a stud to hold the carb down. Or you could put in another stud - up to you. GD
Meeky Moose
go get an easy out.. they're only a couple bucks.. drill the hole 1/4" in and use the easy out to get the stud out.. just did 4 out of 6 on my ea81 block and heads.. and these were rusted in there from sitting for several years.. Goatboy
Thanks everyone! I think a new manifold and perhaps a carb rebuild while the thing is appart might be the ticket!!
calebz
If any of the stud is sticking out, spray the hell out of it with PB Blaster(or whatever P-oil you use).. let it sit fir a while, then grab the part of the stud thats sticking out with a pair of vise grips. I have done that on a manifold bolt and it worked great
