EA82 with a D/R tranny?

Featured Replies

New to the EA82 scene, but found an '89 three door GL coupe with a 5mt for sale. I've not seen the vehicle in person, but the owner says it came from the factory with a D/R tranny...from what I could find, they were push-button S/R setups in that chassis...Is it worth the two hour drive to find out, or does that critter not exhist?

Thanks,

Cody

The EA82 did come with a 5mt Dual range and then later switched to a 5mt single range. I think the switch happened around the time that other newer models were being produced, maybe around the 90's. Not entirely sure. From what I've seen almost all 4wd GL's have the dual range.

yep. I believe the only S/R 5-speed EA82s were loyales and DLs. so if it truly is a GL, it has a D/R.

the auto's were all single range though....maybe that's what you were seeing.

Push button single range came on many years - mostly older turbo's, and DL's, then standard in 90 on the Loyale.

All GL 4WD's had the D/R except automatics and turbo's.
