February 1, 200719 yr You see, I'm doingsome shopping right now...I might look for a wrecked car to fix up and save a bunch of dough. Got any suggestions?
February 1, 200719 yr Well, you could scour local yards to see if they have anything or could keep an eye out. These sorts or 'wrecked but repairable!' cars show up on eBay often, but if you can't pick it up the shipping could be rough. Plus it can be hard to tell the exactly the extent of damage from pictures.

February 2, 200719 yr There's a salvage yard in Kalispell, MT that sells only late model rebuildable autos. You have to buy the whole car. I've seen Outbacks with minimal (still drivable) damage. Once in a while there are recovered stolen strippers with NO body damage, just gutted interiors and missing parts. We're pretty much in your neighborhood (by western state standardws). If you're interested I could get the name and contact numbers for you.
February 2, 200719 yr Google can be a good source for these. I just tried rebuildable autos Many many hits.

February 5, 200719 yr Depends where you are. If you are in Canada, you could buy from your insurance company. In BC, you can buy wrecks from ICBC if you meet requirements
February 5, 200719 yr Hey, thanks! What's the place called? Mountain Side Auto 105 Industrial Ct. Kalispell, MT 59901 (406) 257-5551 Good Luck. last I looked there were a couple of drivable looking late model Outbacks.
February 6, 200719 yr Try the local dealerships. They quite often have stuff that's not worth it for them to fix and sell. It might be worth it for you to fix if you do your own work.
February 6, 200719 yr Do you have "Junk for Jesus" up there? We have jfj auctions down here where it's like 100 refundable (if you don't buy anything) deposit and they have wrecked or "fixer upper" cars mostly that people donated to them for a tax write off.
