bishop087
Hey all- For the past couple of days I've had what seems to be clutch problem with my 99 OB Imp Wagon. After my girlfriend "rocked the the car back and forth for a little while to get it out of the snow" the clutch seems to be slipping in higher gears. I really don't notice it in 1st or 2nd but when I'm up in 5th, I can sometimes hit the gas, the rpms rise pretty high but the car doesn't go any faster. Kinda feels like driving on ice. Do I need a new clutch???? Any advice would be great. Thanks!
weddes05
Most likely that is going to be the scenario. I beleive in 99 they switched to the hydro clutch? So if that is the case you don't have any adjustment to play with.
kevinsUBARU
Sounds like you need a new clutch. The higher gears are where you will see the slipping first. It can take a while for it to show up in the lower gears, or it could appear very fast...depending on your (or your girlfriends) driving habits;).
