February 22, 200719 yr I finally got around to getting a muffler for my wagon. Last night while we were installing it I started up my suby with no muffler and holly crap they're loud!!! No wonder they have such a restrictive muffler to quiet it. Anyway I am sooo happy with the sound and the looks. Its a Naxos muffler. Looks good!! :-D What do you guys think? I'll have to post a video clip sometime.
February 22, 200719 yr Author Well I don't have second gear at the moment:-\ . So it is hard to tell, but I can feel a little difference. Maybe 5-8hp. Next I'm gonna put on my lightweight underdrive pulley. That should help some more.
February 22, 200719 yr If you really want to hear the "grumble" with your muffler, find an unequal length header Have fun.
February 23, 200719 yr WOW, that muffler sounds SUPER cool! and powerful! Never heard one like that, im used to hearings those ricer exhausts You know the ones farting? This one has a reall!!!!!!!!! nice sound! Now you need to go through a car wash
February 23, 200719 yr I don't think one trip through the car wash will be enough. It looks like the weather we had here (Virginia) last week . It took a pocket full of quarters to get all the crud and salt off the Subaru. Richard
February 23, 200719 yr I don't know, sounds like the old brats and wagons, not that it sounds bad, something to look at next year when i do exhaust on mine if it lasts that long.Weather looks similar to us up north of you, just warm enough to melt any new falling snow.

Richard i go through automatic car wash with brushes, scrubs real good, and i use the points that build up to get me a car wash once a week for free, heck it cost me 10,000point and i have like 300,000
February 23, 200719 yr Sounds amazing! What price should I expect to have a similiar muffler bought/installed? I would love to do something like this to my 2001 Legacy, yet have it look tasteful at the same time (like yours). The 2001+ is hard though, becuase of the rear bumper design... Take care, Kevin
February 23, 200719 yr Author I'm not sure about the installation fee because they might have to do some fabricating on your bumper. I had a good friend do it so I got it done for cheap. 50 bucks for the install and 50 bucks for the muffler. Just try and get the most free flow open muffler that you can. No baffles.
