Swapping out dash panels...what works?

Featured Replies

I can't find a parts list anywhere online and it's driving me mad. :slobber: I have an '87 Brat that I am trying to "update." I want to find an interior that will allow me to upgrade some of the features and look a little more modern.

Does anyone know where I can find the specs for other models beside walking into the local dealer?

Has anyone completely replaced the interior in their vehicle?

Nothing is wrong with the dash panel now or any other interior parts but I want to explore all my options since I plan on returning this Brat into "daily driver" status. It would be kinda nice to "upgrade" it.

Is the Brat too narrow? Anyone here work for Subaru?

Thanks!

the brat is very likely narrower than something like an impreza. I KNOW its narrower than a legacy for sure.

You may be able to get away with keeping your basic dash structure and getting creative with putting in a newer guage cluster or something. Carbon fiber, diamond plate and autometer guages??

I don't think you'll find anything other than the ea81 dashes that will fit in there without some serious mods. I'm with flowmastered on this one, if you REALLY want different guages and stuff look into the guage options for hot rod stuff. And build a custom panel for them. It is possible to put a good cd player in there without too much effort, but all this goes with the territory

I am sure I've read of someone swapping in a mid-90s Liberty (Legacy in the US ?) dash into a Brat, it did take some major work but did fit in the end and looked pretty nice.

Dean.
