New front brakes

Featured Replies

well, they're not on yet, but I just got them today. a buddy of mine went to '06 4piston fronts with larger rotors, and gave me his old ones (that's right....free  ). long story short, I've got these to go on with my 5-lug swap:

I guess I'll just have to run 16s or bigger....oh no!

sweet! that was pretty much the only reason i didn't get wrx brakes is because i wanted to be able to run 15's... (granted there are 15" wheels that easily clear wrx brakes... heck even 4 pots... but $$$)

cool setup... i'm curious to see if there is a big difference in stopping power vs the RS brakes that i have... i'm sure mine will be fine for the brat though...

are those US WRX brakes? Teh rotor doesnt look as big as I remember a WRX rotor being...

looks like RS equipment...

yep....

forgot to mention....donor car was an '02 2.5 RS (although some sources say they're the same as WRX brakes. the same calipers at the very least).

Calipers are the same as WRX, brackets are shorter, rotors are smaller....pad plate is the SAME as the WRX.

You can run 15" wheels over those. My 05 RS has the same caliper and pad as the late 03+ WRX, but the shorter bracket and smaller rotor...I've run lots of different 15's on it for autox use.

I have the same ones on my ej20g xt. (They are on legacy spindels) Those brakes are realy good brakes compared to the stock ones.
