EA81T quick question

Featured Replies

I was looking at the analog cluster I have from one of these cars. And I'm curious what sensor or signal makes the turbo gauge work?

The digi and analog are the same.

They both use a pressure switch located on the passenger side strut tower. Its a dual purpose switch, sending a signal to the ECU telling it to increase injector duration when boost increases. At 1psi it sends a signal to the light on the dash.

Is that the one that has "BOOST SENSOR" written on it?

The analog gauge runs off of the one labeled Boost Sensor. Its a variable electric sender.

The digital gauge uses the pressure switch. Since the EA81T analog dash has a gauge and not a light, the pressure switch isn't used for the dash at all on the analog.
