Anyone know of any good sites with video or sound bites of older subarus or on 4x4 excursions?

I have a few hosted...

Eric Zap is famous for his line of personal Subaru Video's. He has about 4 or 5 of them available, including video of his trip with Ken and others on the Rubicon trail. I have the first 4 of his videos, and they are all great.

I have alot of video, most of it is not digitized yet... but i'll be working on that later in the near future.

Curious, did you guys like the crap I used to fill the rest of the tape?

Overall, I thought the extra footage was excellent. Some of the rallycross scenes could have been done without, but that's just my opinion. The offroad stuff was darn good though

Thanks, appreciate the honesty. I tried to keep the rallyx stuff to a minimum, but wanted to show another end of the Subaru offroad spectrum. . .

As for 1-4 + the best of 1-3, I'm not so sure I'll ever be selling copies of those again. Probably just retire those and keep them for personal viewing. So if you've got them, hold onto them, more copies won't be available.

When I get around to finally finishing up the Subarubicon digi version, I'll release a few copies of it and retire it as well. The interest in it was far less than I'd thought, way less folks signed up than I figured on. Don't think I've sold more than 15 copies of the vhs version.

The idea of spending 6-8 hours to edit it all down again to get it onto dvd so 5 people will buy it doesn't motivate me so much at all.

(little bit of kicking myself going on for buing a new computer so I could make dvds and pay for the new computer)

Eric, don't give up on the movie career just yet. You might think about changing your marketing strategy. Sell footage (with the rights) to SOA for their exclusive use, i.e. promotion of subarus as viable off road vehicles; the ruggdness and durability of their 4 wheel drive units (I can attest to that firsthand).... You have some footage that is truely awesome and unique. Be proud of your work - most artists are starving and underappreciated in their life times. At least you've sold 5 or 6 copies, and have a product worthy of consideration by the parent company. (And maybe a career working with them as a videographer).

Thanks for the comments and compliments.

hmmmm. . .

Had thought about approaching SOA. . . hadn't thought about asking for a job filming. hehe

In comparison, I've sold nearly a hundred copies of parts 1-4 and the best of.

5or6 or the Subarubicon dvd. . . I'm not so happy about. It was a really expensive (for me) video to make, more than 2 grand total.

lemme get some off your back, brudda. I want two videos or 1 video and 1 dvd. Let me know if you still have copies available.

What about putting up an ad in an Off-Road mag? Might not cost too much. Or possibly making posters with a gnarly shot of a leg-lifter and a web link, and sending them to various Sube Dealerships. They usually put cool posters near the Parts counters.
