Has anyone used the 1 to 3 12 volt adapters in their Subies? Are there any issues or hazards? I would just need to run a GPS and iPod or XM radio. Thanx in advance.

I've run a 1 to 2 adapter. There's no risk of overloading the vehicle's outlet since that is fused. The three devices you mentioned are not power hogs anyway so it shouldn't be an issue.

 

Also there is a Subaru accessory you can get that I think gives you two more outlets. I think maybe nipper has one installed? It kind of mounts where the ashtray is I think

I have the factory kit that replaces the ashtray with two more (higher amp) outlets.

 

One of the online suppliers will have it.

I was thinking the same.

 

Want to put my GPS on there and a small coolbox (75W). I thought it holds a 10A fuse so that around 6.25A for the coolbox and 2.4A for the GPS (at max output). Is it not bad to continiuous have about 8 to 9 amp load on the wiring?

I also have a penlite charter but that takes 5A so either GPS + charger or GPS + coolbox i guess.

The kit comes with a factory harness, a relay, and a heavy fused line. It was built by subaru to literally clip right into the car. Your not going to hurt anything.
