disable rear torsion bar?

Featured Replies

one side broke, and I've added rear coilovers, and the side with the torsion bar (clocked too) is making it a bit too high... the bolt that holds the arm in snapped off....

So no un-clocking it? Just do the opposite of putting it up a notch.

drill it and retap? if you want to put another one on later. otherwise there's always the ol' hacksawzzz

not without that bolt :)

I can't get a drill centered on the bolt remains to drill it out... I'm gonna check and see if I can get to it through the adjuster under the bed... actually, if I cut the adjuster off, that would do the trick .... hmmm....

sometimes you can start your center hole with a small bit to drill it out. it won't get moved around like a big bit. don't go deep just enough to make a pit that a bigger bit can hold till its past the rough surface.

Also using a punch to make a dent in the bolt (or whatever your drilling) for the drill bit to follow. Works 9 times out of 10 for me..
