August 31, 200718 yr Your Outback already has CAI. The airbox attached to the fender has its inlet hole introducing outside cold air. If you put tubing and a K&N cone filter on the end that remains inside the engine bay, you will have WAI (warm air intake). You will also have more noise (throttle) eminating from the engine, and more dirt entering the engine - while the K&N may flow more air, it does not filter as well as the OEM paper element. Okay, let the flames begin:Flame: r/ PK

August 31, 200718 yr I'm gonna be forced to agree here... Unless you want to throw off you maf readings, ruin the maf sensor with oiled filters, and let more warm air into your engine... Only real reason to put an aftermarket intake on these cars is for more noise, show, or if your lift won't let you use the stock tubing
August 31, 200718 yr I put one of them stupid things on my Tacoma a few years back. Wish I never had.....

September 3, 200718 yr Yes but it's not pretty or cool looking. Either one of those is good for a 15 hp increase, 20 if it comes in a color nipper
