Limited Slip Gear Oil

Featured Replies

What kind of lube are you running in your LSD? Did you purchase the genuine Subaru LSD oil? Are you running regular gear lube? Synthetic? Limited slip additives?

Any opinions from anyone experienced in the matter would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I run Redline gear oils in everything I've got - wonderful stuff. You can call em up and they will tell you what to run depending on your application.

General Disorder, does what you "got" include any Subaru limited slip diffs? Redline is good stuff.

I don't have any LSD's at the moment, but if I did, Redline would be in it. John (Mudrat79) has Redline in all of his, and speaks highly of it.

You can run their regular gear oil, and add their LSD additive, or you can buy LSD oil that already has it in. They have a huge array of different products - one of them is sure to be correct. I would call em and ask, or visit their site to see...

I run the Kendall limited slip gear oil, it's cheaper than the Redline line stuff. But I do run the Redline MT90 in the tranny it's something like $12 qt. smoothed out the syncros nice.--Brian

Kendall LSD gear oil works just fine. I use the Redline 75-90W NS in the transmission for the same reason as 84SOOB (minimizes synchro crunch). Brian you've got to find a cheaper source for your Redline--I bought a case of the 75-90W NS for $8/qt. a while back.

I buy loose quarts of Redline for $8 ($7.99 actually) a quart here at a place called discount import parts. Not cheap, but better than $12, and I don't have to buy a case to get that price.....

No tax here either
