How do you know if the rear is a LSD or Not?

Both rear tires will turn in the same direction when you are rotating one side. Otherwise the other side may turn but in the opposite direction on the non lsd unit.

Or there will be a big LSD marked on the rear tag with the diff ration.

LSD on the rear diff tag. if not, turn one side stub. if the other side turns the same way it's LSD, if it turns the opposite way it's not.

Late '80s RX models; option on '88 and '89 Turbos. Maybe some others.

So my 87 Turbo RX should be LSD.

Yes, all RX's came with LSD. Unless someone swiped yours, it has it.

Cleaned all the crud off the rear diff and it is a LSD.
