October 20, 200718 yr On a 98 Legacy GT? Or do I need to remove the bolts for the axles too? I seem to remember the rotors just pulled off last time. No amount of PB Blaster or rubber mallet seems to do the trick.... There are no screw holes to push the disk off like on other Japanese autos.
October 20, 200718 yr Front, or rear? Even the el-cheapo Chinese rotors I bought last week had bolt holes.
October 20, 200718 yr There should be bolt holes in the rotors to aid in removal. Most the time i have had one fall off and the other needing minor encouragement. nipper
October 20, 200718 yr No do not remove the axle nut to get the rotors off. Of course the caliper bracket does have to be removed. Yes sometimes they come right off and sometimes they're rough. I had some on the front of my '00obw without the 8mm holes and it took a fair amount of sledge hammering, torch heating, etc., to get them off. If you aren't planning to reuse the rotors, you can get busy on them with a sledge.
October 20, 200718 yr when you put the new ones on clean off the hub as best you can with a metal brush or something and dab a little grease/anti-seize on the mounting surfaces (ps don't get it on the lugs).
