November 17, 200718 yr We have a couple new things for Weber DGV series carbs 1) The Weber DGV series throttle shaft has no support other than the body of the carburetor. This leads to wear of the body. We have come up with a roller bearing kit that slips into a cavity that is there already in the carb. The shaft is fully supported and the bearing is sealed. The kit comes with 2 bearings and 2 shaft screws. There is no machine work. You take out the shaft and replace 2 plastic bushings with our bearings. The kit is $20 plus 9 for shipping. 2) We are going to have a new top cover gasket for the DGV series carbs as well. The problem has been that the top gasket was made for the 38 DGAS and it is actually different from DGV. On steep inclines, fuel can leak out of the float bowl and into the air corrector jets area. This gasket should cure that. Call, email, or PM me. 1-800-665-5031
November 17, 200718 yr Need to get me a roller bearing throttle shaft kit soon. Mine is worn so much it won't idle below 2k, because that's what I cranked it up to compensate the vac leak so it won't quit at the stoplights. Might get two, just scored another Subaru with a Weber(new one though).(The Weber not the Soob).
November 17, 200718 yr That's a really excelent product Jim. Thank you for brining it to our attention. Do you have anything similar for worn out choke shaft bearings in the carb top? Thought I would ask as I've run across that recently.... GD
November 17, 200718 yr I like to hear about this new stuff. Any chance we could get a picture of that sealed bearing kit? Sounds like it is for sure worth the money.
November 20, 200718 yr Author Hi, the bearing kit is this It costs $20 and 9 for shipping. Our new "old style" top cover gasket looks like this
November 20, 200718 yr Author Top cover choke flap issues are a new problem. Sometimes you see the issue and sometimes you dont. I can supply a new top cover for about $70 shipped anywhere in North America. Then you can transfer your old parts over. sometimes the shaft it self is pretty badly worn.
