December 18, 200718 yr I just sideswiped a small mountain of packed ice and snow and dented my passenger side door pretty good. Ballpark--how much will it run me to get it fixed? Is it worthwhile to get a suction cup and start yanking? '98 Impreza.
December 18, 200718 yr Fixed right? A lot. The door will have to be fixed and made flat. Then the door will need to be painted and the two adjoining panels blended in.
December 18, 200718 yr Author how about just fixed enough so it doesn't look like absolute crap. i want it to just look partially crappy.
December 18, 200718 yr Cost of repair, and if DIY will likely be good enough, depends on the nature of the dent. A shallow dent with very minimal creasing can often be pulled out without too much effort, and sometimes "paintlessly". Deep dents, sharp creases, damage to more than the door "skin" can require quite a bit more effort/parts/paint, and of course the cost is higher. If you can post a picture, we might be able to be more informative.
December 18, 200718 yr If it isn't too bad of a dent you can heat it up with a hair dryer and then take a bottle of caned air and turn it upside down and spray it to freeze it. This make the metal contract quickly an in a few seconds the dent goes "pop" all better.
December 19, 200718 yr Ding King actually kinda works sometimes if the dent isnt too horrible. Do they even still sell those anymore???
December 19, 200718 yr buy a used door, make sure it's a different color, then your car will look a little crappy.
