February 27, 200818 yr I know the front axles are different between the turbo/non turbo and also a/t and m/t... 23 spline or 25 spline. Havent played with the rear in quite a while, cant remember if there's anything different about the REAR axle inboards.. turbo? Non-turbo? Spline count? My rear axle crapped on me and I have 2 non turbo axles laying around that I could rebuild, cant seem to find a listing for turbo Rear axles.. Input? Advice? Thanks in advance.
February 27, 200818 yr Author Thanks for the input, guys.. .That just saved me lots of time and money trying to hunt down specific axles. I'm gonna clean up and re-grease and re-boot my other 2 axles then, and run with it..
February 27, 200818 yr Johnson']All ea82 rear axles are the same. well....interchangeable anyway. the '85-'86 ones have a different outer joint style. but the length and spline counts didn't change.
March 28, 200818 yr yep all rear EA82, EA82T, and ER27 rear axles are the same. Okay dokie. I'm not gonna count my chickens just yet.... Gary, I'm wanting to clarify a couple things please. I have XT6 rear and front axle shafts that need replacement. I have a GL-10 turbo wagon(s) one has 3.9 ratio and the other has 3.7 There are a couple "other" shafts on the storage area that will need to be looked at and spline counted. What you say(And I trust you bigtime) is that the rears are the same size and spline count of the rears for all three cars, right?
March 28, 200818 yr the rears are the same size and spline count of the rears for all three cars, right? yep. completely interchangeable.
March 29, 200818 yr Chux & Gary, You rock... now to go count the shafts and spline to see what is where and swap oput the toasted rears and see about ordering them GKC(sp) thru amazon...... side note to self( gotta bump up the thread on the TPS issue and ask about the HLA thread with the cool pic's on disassembly and cleaning.... )
