March 31, 200818 yr hey guys last week my lower radiator hose blew and off course during the repair i had to drain the whole system and put in a new thermostat... Now since i bleeded the system using the breather hole (plastic philips screw on left top part of radiator), that plastic nut with the philips screw head is not sealing anymore, however the leak is from the middle / center of the screw!! now, anyone has a part number for that? A no so good picture

March 31, 200818 yr Yeppers, junkyard time. Any '90's Lego, or Imp will have whatcha need. I lost one down the black hole in the radiator support.
March 31, 200818 yr Author I replaced mine with a bolt. really and the heat doesnt make the plastic melt around the bolt? thats what i had in mind at first but then i was like what if it cracks the radiator when i screw in there
March 31, 200818 yr i guess you could make a trip to sears/lowes and see what you could rig up.......dont know how safe it would be though......
March 31, 200818 yr Author ugh! i just ran out of radiator sources at the JY, they have 5 imprezas and countless legacies but every single one of them except for one have the radiator pulled... its time to look at another JY :horse:
April 1, 200818 yr Time for a new scewdriver? Sounds like your poking holes in the plugs. Put a dab of RTV on the bottom of the plug let it cure and use it until you get a replacement.
April 1, 200818 yr My radiator is an after market metal one, it had a plactic drain plug and plactic vent screw, I have replaced both with a metel bolt and they work fine. really and the heat doesnt make the plastic melt around the bolt? thats what i had in mind at first but then i was like what if it cracks the radiator when i screw in there
April 1, 200818 yr drain plug assortment at local auto parts store or ace hardware-get a metal one and you are set for life-forget the thread aize i think is posted in an earlier thread. Fixed mine fine
April 1, 200818 yr My 96 OBW broke from the center just like yours. I bought one from the dealer for about $14 (a lot of $ for the little plug). Don't have the parts # but you can always bring your old one to the dealer. The new one I got doesn't come with an o-ring. Make sure you get a new ring or re-use the old one. I also patched my old plug with JB Weld but hasn't tried it yet. The center part of the plug is hollow and that's why it broke and leaked.

April 2, 200818 yr You're welcome. Let us know if that number is still in the parts computer where you get it. I think I remember that the parts guy had to break out a 3-ring binder to find it.
