Hybrid Sube???

Featured Replies

The other day as I was running errands, I was sitting at a light when a newer Outback Wagon pulled up beside me. I like the new style so as I looked it over I noticed a Hybrid badge on the right front quarter panel, just in front of the door seam. Did someone just stick a badge on their car to deflect the haters, or is there something Subaru isn't telling us?

I couldn't find much info on it...

I've never known any environmental hate to be directed towards subarus...

I know the diesel is coming, but sooby ruled out a hybrid due to costs etc.

Maybe its one off being tested out by you or a engineering test mule?

Thats fords right? I would say that they put stickem on it just for the hell of it

I mean, merkatroid put a porsche certified pre owned sticker on his 92 loyale

Could it possibly be a Synergy drive hybrid test mule? How about a Synergy drive hybrid diesel 6 speed getting 80 mpg!

Actually hybrid diesels dont do much better then just straight diesels in passenger cars. They do very well in trucks that do a lot of stopping.

There is very litle cost benefit in making a passnger car thats a hybrid diesel, as a diesel has all that low end grunt, and gasoline engines have to really start spinning to make things move.

could be subaru running propane and gasoline but they are usually indicated as Bi-fuel although not with subaru.

They call it Ecomatic Autogas Hybrid (http://www.subaru-ecomatic.de/) sorry its in german though. And those ones usually have an ecomatic badge under the model name.
