trans and engine change

Featured Replies

i have a 98 legacy 2.2 auto that lost a timing belt today and i was wondering if the engine and trans from my 95 legacy 2.2 auto, 98 trans #is tz102zacaa 95 trans #is tz102zaaaa

thank for your help

steve

should bolt right in, no problem. the only possible is the front y-pipe. the exhaust ports may be different. the 95 is dual port exhaust, i do can't remember what the 97-98 2.2L is. if different, you'll need the y-pipe. some one else will know.

the trans have the same final drive ratio, 4.11, it's a perfect match.

My 97 had single exhaust ports so You will probably need to change the y-pipe. But other than that yeah it should work!!

I have to ask - why swap both out?

I'd just replace the engine, and do TB, WP, etc while the new engine is out of the car.

I believe John is correct. You'll need the different Y pipe from the donor or a 2.5 car.

From on 1996 single port. I have 2 1997 1 1996 1 1999 all single ports.
