Impreza struts on ea82?

Featured Replies

I was told that you might be able to change the top mount on the impreza strut with the ea82 one and it will work. what will happen if it does work?

what will happen if it does work?

your car will roll to the port side 3 times then burst into flames.

as far as i know the impreza strut will not fit into the ea82 spindle.. but with modification to the strut towers the top hats will atleast fit in.. an option for those doing five lug swaps with impreza front suspension/drivetrain

The way that the struts mount to the steering knuckle is completely different between an Impreza and an EA82. You would need to find several pieces from an XT6 and to do this swap cleanly; you would want to do the full 5-lug conversion.

he mentioned the top hat, not the entire strut assembly. i'm not sure what good it would do you, but an Impreza strut top hat should fit into the EA82 bolt holes.....not sure about the "strut side", but i'm not sure what that would gain you? you might want to give a hint about what you're trying to do.

like they said - the EJ struts do not even come close to interchanging with the EA stuff. the bottom mounts aren't even remotely similar.

EA82 and EJ strut tops are interchangeable. I have legacy struts/tops on my EA82.

but, as mentioned. struts have to match the knuckles.
