EA-82 Exhaust Manifold Gaskets

Featured Replies

I see a few "flange to flange" gaskets for further down the exhaust line.

....And maybe 2 that work up to the head.

The ones on the right are from NAPA from about a year ago. The bottom metal is more like OEM. The others are recent multi layer from Fel Pro.

I have used both sizes on the manifold to head interface on a EA-82.

Of course, I belt sand the flange on the pipe flat. They'll all work if you do that.

I have those Felpro on my Loyale, held up a lot longer than any others I've used, untill the stud fell out.................

My experience with the Felpros is a good one, I have them on all the Subarus that run and they have held up well. the others didnt work very good for very long, for me anyway.

The top one on the left, and the middle one on the right are manifold gaskets. Both are inferior types but the top left one at least has a combustion seal ring.

The others are for the mid-pipe to exhaust pipe flange mating right before the rear axle. It's not as critical that they have the seal ring in them but all the OEM one's do.

The OEM gaskets are best and they are similar to the bottom right style - graphite/metal with a seal ring.

Hi,

Good Morning all. Last two Y pipes I've done, I used Beck Arney. Slide them over the studs and they stay there. Nice. I don't have any on hand to take pics of because I used them:). Just a wide variety of materials and construction out there.

Doug
