think 94 legacy same. the green piece slides and unlocks the connector. doh why do i know this....for clock spring and airbag connections at the steering wheel?

that's bizarre, my 97 Legacy steering wheel had a different style. yellow with a green button, but not the slide like in this pic.

 

i need to find two somehow.

okay, thanks folks. so the clock spring is a separate part? i've heard of that, but not sure what or where it is.

 

so i can also look for a body side clock spring connector from an earlier legacy and probably impreza.
