Cody it sometimes helps if

your post tile describes the situation

you tell us what year and model of Subaru it is.

Sounds like you blew a fusible link.

EA81 or EA82?

have you checked all your fuses?/ fuseable links?

sorry about the lack of info i just popped into work and i was rushed, its a 92 loyale spfi, 5 spd.

and my hood is pooched, so snow can get under it

do you know where they are and how to test

the fusible links?

I checked the FSM and the same fusible link

does NOT run the wipers and the headlamps.

Might be worth a look to see if it's snow packed.

Hope there is a taxi service in your town.

Could also be that the positive terminal fell off the battery -- not the big one that goes to the starter, but the little wire that goes over the to the fuseable links -- I've seen that on alot of subarus that's kind of hanging on by some threads, instead of tightly connected any more. Except... that should have cut the ignition too. Hmm... Also, you didn't say yet, but, any fuses blown?

well not just electrical reasons for a new one, i need to do my cv's, rusty body, no fenders in front, hood mangled and tied closed, interior electrical issues, and i think my brake master cyl, is going fast :) im searching round here for a new scoob, and i'll probally part this one.

Yeah... sounds similar to my first suby -- it was completely rusted out, dented, needed two new axles, a new carbureator, an exhaust system, and had lots of electrical gremlins. I bought a new one for half the cost of just the parts to fix the old one... :)
