  1. Sucks im so far away, but seriously; how often is there a group of people who will watch each others back like this. Makes me even more proud to drive a subaru. Best of luck man, i hope you get your car back and i hope the *********************s, drop their soap, repeatedly.
  2. Yeah that is music to my ears. I will definitely pull everything brake related, and maybe once the michigan 37 degree rain / mist fest ends ill have the motivation for the M/C swap which i suppose wouldn't be horrid if it matches up the same. and then i still need to decide if im gonna buy the rest of it + another XT6 for $500 - what i pay for the rims and brakes Just curious is there any other easy stuff i can yank and swap fer fun.
  3. Well after a long cold winter without owning an 82 roo, I'M BACK!! Picked up a 1988 gl from Nevada so it has less rust than most Michigan gl's. EA82 F.I, D/R Five speed. :-D needless to say im ecstatic issues: -One bent rim, 3 shot tires 1 damn near shot tire -broken wheel stud in back left drum. I am wondering if: a)The rims form a turbo xt4 will work (i had a set on my turbo gl10 but that had discs) how much of a bear it would be to just yank the brake assemblies off the back of the XT and put them on my GL. ( i searched but most of the writeups i found were geared twoards the ea81s, or brats) If those are relatively easy i will have my car on brand new tires, with brand new brakes by monday ~!!!

As the title says i have a 95 5 speed sedan, i keep staring in to the lovely eyes and grill of an OBW at the scrapyard...... looks the same, does anyone know 100% if this is a direct bolt on to change bumpers ?? I would usually just buy it but they want damn near 200 for it and im not prepared to spend that unless im sure.
  5. kinda need tires, i have studded tires right now on the L those be illegal as hell in my neck of the woods. which clutch should i use or is there no difference. i kinda want the act2600 set wih an 8lb flywheel

  7. yeah its a 97, and i can do the diff no problem, YAY!!!!!! ^^ i can't wait to have those on my sedan!! also are the brakes different? better i hope.
  8. basically i have a chance to get a sideswiped GT for 300 bux with a (SHOCKING) Blown head gasket. ill scrap the motor, but im wondering if the 5mt from that will bolt right in and work in my 2.2 sedan that has a bad main shaft bearing. zzz then i also get all the sweet gt body bits :)
  9. ^^ Kicks self in rump roast repeatedly for being an idiot. you rock!!!! for the tranny swap i went form 3at, to the P/b 5 spd out of my old 91 loyale, wired the 4wd up, threw in the pedal assembly did some cutting etc, Viola! only took a day with two buddies and a case of mike's.
  10. no idea why just a couple days ago my car decided to throw me a new curve-ball -88 gl-10 turbo swapped 5 spd pb. when i turn off the car, the driver side not headlight but corner light stays on, as well as the pass. tail light. as an added bonus i've blown 5 fusible links since this started, any ideas where the gremlin may be hiding??
  11. well i searched around here and haven't found a whole lot on this subject. i don't like my digidash, and my originally auto wagon is now a 5spd so half the stuff is useless to me. is it possible to go to analog ???
  12. i've got a 95 legacy sedan 5spd. when its in neutral theres a faint rubbing noise in the tranny area, push in the clutch, silence. when going through the gears it makes a higher pitched sound, has me pretty worried. any ideas on the cause?
  13. well its been intermittently overheating and then today it wouldn't go down in temp. parked it and viola oil slick.... how boned am i and how do i do a head gasket ( my main suspect)
  14. i have ran plenty of water / coolant through this readiator trying to diagnose this, including two full flushes, get great drainage. when i took out the stant super crap. one side of it water, other side coolant..... ill try the dealer tommorow i really hope they have a thermostat in stock. if no luck after that im going the rad, then waterpump then hand grenade route till something makes this move.
  15. if i were closer i would have my engine stand in the back of my old wagon and be there to help but im a thousand miles away.

  17. Just got a legacy sedan 173k on the clock. ej22. 5 spd. It was overheating no pressure in upper hose lower hose was cold. so i changed the thermostat and fluched the rad. still doing it, no heat when idling it doesn't overheat get on it for a second and temp goes right up...... im dumbfounded, still hot upper hose, cold lower hose. when i drained it from the rad. flush stuff it was warm but not hot at all..... ideas on what this could be, no smoke no coolant in the oil.
  18. ebay acl race bearings(opens up your revving abilities a bit more) - 80 bux shipped sti pistons - 50 ish right now on there (not sure if they'd work right you'd have to check the numbers didn't find any normal pistons on there. if you do it please post a ton of pics and a how-to i have an ej22 that might be needing a rebuild soon..... GL
  19. Just got a '95 legacy sedan, 2.2 5spd. needs a windshield but other than that its 100% almost no rust the fuel door is 99% of the rust on the total car. just wondering how much she'd be worth with a new windshield and all good to go ? 173k miles
  20. so best Course of action :: Yank intake manifold, replace that hose 1/4" heater hose (how long), clean up old intake gaskets put on new ones, drive away happy..... "?
  21. dont think its the turbo line, you can see that in the picture, it actually looks to be leaking from under the intake Mani.....
