February 3, 200917 yr I have a 99 2.5 OBW 1000 K trans light flashing after 20 min highway run if you shut off the car off and re start the light goes out ( so that tells me the trans is not hot because light would light back up if trans was overheating ) checked with my snap on scaner and find no codes I found out that if on ice I get no rear assist what shuld be my next course of action ohm out trans sol and switches please give me some input
February 4, 200917 yr try checking the code from the TCU.. Via Shawn: EXISTING PROBLEM CHECK PROCEDURE Move shifter to D and turn manual switch ON. Turn Ignition switch ON Move select lever to 3 and turn manual switch OFF Move select lever to 2 and turn manual switch ON Move select lever to 1 and turn manual switch OFF Partially depress accelerator pedal (this turns the idle switch off) Verify that the light is blinking on the dash. Count like any Subaru trouble code with long/short. 11-duty solenoid A 12 duty solenoid B 13 shift solenoid 3 14 shift solenoid 2 15 shift solenoid 1 21 atf temp sensor 22 atmospheric sensor 23 engine rev signal 24 duty solenoid C 31 throttle sensor 32 vehicle speed sensor 1 33 vehicle speed sensor 2 There is a procedure for previous problem check, it is : Move lever to 1 and turn manual switch on Ignition switch on Move lever to 2 and turn manual switch off Move select lever to 3 and turn manual switch ON Move select lever to D and turn manual switch OFF Partially press accel pedal Read codes Usually a lack of rear assist is a solenoid C issue or a rear clutch pack. BTW is it the power light flashing or the trans temp?

February 4, 200917 yr i guess if the government hadn't required obd2 we'd still be doing the 'magic dance' to read blinking lights for CELs. seems like there should be a generic reader for trans diagnostics.
February 7, 200917 yr Author Ok I found the two wires under the dash removed the tape from them and grounded one of them and turned on IG and no blink from the trans light Grounded both of them and no blink what am I missing
February 10, 200917 yr i never heard of the procedure listed here, The proper procedure involves grounding out a pin on a harness. Do a search on Transmission codes and the procedure will show up.
February 12, 200917 yr Author I located the B82 connector and the two ground wires looking at the B82 connector terminals 4@5 their is no wires going to those two terminals in the connector I will take a picture of it and post it
February 12, 200917 yr is there an aamco around you? take it there. theyll read the codes for free.. and by that i mean theyll run a free diagnostics on everything. and theyll find the code. it should be free... or it might just be the shop around me. i had a transmission code that other obd2 scanners couldnt find.. and the aamco shop by me foudn it..
