February 18, 200917 yr i was curious if the mustache bars that hold the rear diff are interchangeable? there's a bunch of EA82's at the Arlington PAP, and i need a rear mustache bar and the actual frame brackets for my EA81...
February 18, 200917 yr Author No! i figured as much... now to hunt for an ea81 mustache bar to modify...
February 18, 200917 yr How tall of one do you need? I have a custom one for a 6" lift. Otherwise; I'll keep an eye out.
February 18, 200917 yr lynnwood Pull A Part had a ea81 wagon 4wd in... it even had complete power steering set up!!
February 18, 200917 yr well...they are the same except for the length... BUT, if you're modifying one anyway.

Otherwise; I'll keep an eye out. it's for my 8" lifted wagon... it has a custom one on it but the rubber bushings are fubar'd, along with the actual bracetry needs replaced... it's a custom tube setup with mustache bar ends welded on. I'm planning on just installing a new mustache bar and mounts, and welding/installing the the tube V shaped drop bracket to help triangulate it and what not. The diff is presently pitched sideways because of the worn bushings and such. Which i'm suspecting that a lot of my stub shaft breakage is coming from the diff rocking back and forth, not to mention the metal vibration sound that i've had for the last 2 years could be the forward diff mount rubbing metal to metal because the diff is cocked... February 18, 200917 yr The EA81 and EA82 Mustache bars arent the same, they have different curvatures and such, and as Chux said different lengths, but if youre using them for a custom application like your lifted wagon, I see no reason you couldnt make it work, just a matter of cutting and welding zzz:Flame: -Bill

February 21, 200917 yr The one I have is an all steel hoop that bolts to the unibody, and then the rear diff. The hoop pipe stays close to the gas tank, so it would take minor modification for 8" of lift. If it could be of any help; I could get a picture for you. Otherwise I'll keep an eye out for a stocker for You.
