March 7, 200917 yr Try disconnecting the lead to the pressure sensor and see if the light goes out then. The sensor may be faulty.
March 7, 200917 yr Author I can try that too. But I was able to pull a DTC code of 76. Off of the flashes yesterday. Not to sure on what to proceed next.
March 7, 200917 yr if you pulled the code, look it up and tell us what it is. is it always doing it, just at start up, does it flash 16 times at start up, have you tried clearing it and see if it comes back, does it ever go off....need more info.
March 7, 200917 yr If the code you got is P0076 it means- Intake Valve Control Circuit Low (Bank 1). This has nothing to do with the oil light. I assume the code is for the MAF sensor. Check for a bad connection to it. EDIT: Sorry, ignore this. I gave a code for the engine, not the transmission which is the trouble. Edited March 8, 200917 yr by Cougar
March 8, 200917 yr I know the 2.5RS in 2000 got a MAP sensor, it has not been specified if its the L which will have the EJ22. Did the EJ22 change to MAP sensors as well?
March 8, 200917 yr Author I have looked that code up from alldata and it stated that it was a 2-4 brake duty solenoid. DTC code of 76 The light never goes off until engine is turn off. I tried resetting by pulling fuse # 14, and 4 did both and nothing happened. I remeber changing brake pads and rotor and the brake light stayed on until i drove it for 10-15 min and it went away.
March 8, 200917 yr Start fresh. Disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes to clear all codes and go from there. Also more info on your car will help, miles, engine info, ect.

The DTC being referred to concerns an auto trans solenoid circuit fault -- it has nothing to do with the service brakes (the ones that stop the car). In http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=96778 you said that the engine had been pulled. If the trans problem showed up right after the engine work, it's likely that the cause is either a damaged wire or improperly plugged in connector to the trans that happened during the engine repair. In that case, a careful visual inspection will likely be revealing.
March 8, 200917 yr Author I will go and do another visual inspection again. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm still a newbie to the subaru.
March 10, 200917 yr Author Everything checked out okay. no bad connector. Wires everything looked good, still no sign. Any clues on how to check if my TCM is working properly???
