Weird Stuff - door gap

Recommended Posts

I'm sure some of you out there have had some weird experiences with your rig. I'll share one i had.

My Soob has been sitting in the driveway as it needs a clutch and some other stuff. hadn't worked on it for a few months. I decided to hit it with the sander as I'm doing some body work. The second I hit the spot I was going to work on, the motherload of Yellowjackets came out of the gap between the fron and rear doors. I got tagged by one right below the eye. hurt like a mother...... After spraying the gap with wasp killer, I opened the door to find the little kamikazees had built a nest there!!!

Not uncommon at all.

I let my old 84 Turbo Coupe sit most of the Summer once.

Got the tranny fixed and in the process found several nest in various places.

Including the inside of both rear view mirrors.

But I missed one.

It was in between the door jamb and front fender.

I opened the door and sat down to get into the glove box.

I got hit 3 times before I could run away.

Heh, when I bought my 1980 brat, I had to use two full cans of Raid to kill

all of the nests.

I believe I counted 6 in the bed area and canopy, 2 gargantuan ones inside

the front fenders, 3 in the tailgate (the pop panel had been removed), 1 in the cab, and one inside the bed (a pop panel had been reinstalled INcorrectly and allowed a gap that was just big enough)

And I didn't get stung once! :D
