April 8, 200916 yr 91 legacy has miss in #3 cyl. new plugs and wires. plug is not wet andi have spark but it don't look strong. were there any known coil problems. it has about 160,000 an it.
April 9, 200916 yr I have not had a bad coil. All but one of my EA82s have been run to 160K-205K miles. Years ago, I went to do a compression test on my 86. So I did what I always had, remove the plugs, unhook the high tension wire from the top of the coil. When I hit the starter for the first test, the arc jumped right up and out of the coil to the nearest screw terminal. So a normal working coil can throw an arc over 1" long.
April 9, 200916 yr Author it ran fine when she shut it off. when she started it back up is when it started missing.
April 9, 200916 yr Author not an ingition problem. tried a diff coil didn't change, has great compression. has injector pulse at plug but i can't get the injector ouy to check it, any one have any sugestions.
April 10, 200916 yr 91 legacy has miss in #3 cyl. new plugs and wires. What type of plugs and wires? Wrong parts on EJ ignition will cause problems. But start by checking that the spark plug wires are as far as possible from the injector wires. Get some of that flexible wiring cover and put it over the section of the wire that runs close. Make sure there are no nicks or cuts in the injector wiring insulaztion. BTW......This should be in the New Generation Forum and may get moved.
April 10, 200916 yr Replace your plugs with NGK's. And STOP posting in the old gen forum. Go where the knowledge is - NEWER GENERATION. GD
