April 28, 200916 yr Is there any listing of acronym definitons for subarus? I did a search for some and did not find what I had hoped for. I have owned my Outback for a little over a week and while surfing the forum I get stumped on some of the terminology. When I was on a Ford Diesel forum, we would keep a sticky thread for the newbies to read for some of the common acronyms thrown around. Example would be HPOP which meant high pressure oil pump. Thanks. Dean
April 28, 200916 yr Hopefully one that does not get applied to subies often is :Flame: :Flame:FUBAR:Flame: :Flame: Dave
April 29, 200916 yr The best way to get around it really is to spell out what the acronym means in a post along with the acronym (like this). this way it also shows up in a search. http://www.aa1car.com/library/acronyms.htm see if that helps. nipper
April 29, 200916 yr Author Thanks Nipper. I also saw a thread concerning a d/r tranny swap. What does D/R stand for. I understand the OBW one.
April 29, 200916 yr D/R is dual range, high and low, 4wd there was a 4spd D/R and a 5spd D/R. in EA81 and EA82 cars S/R single range, 4wd, mostly the EA71 cars LSD.....limited slip differential, referring to rear diff. or a drug used by hippies in the 60's doj double offset joint, as in CV axles, constant velocity axle. etc etc.
