plug wires

Featured Replies

parts man, or anyone else

I need a set of plug wires that are not too short

Is one engine's configuration longer than another?

CC Tailor Resistor Wires 6133 was about 4inches too short on the longest wire

1985 ea82 4wd dr 5spd carb wagon

part #'s are helpful also

I bought the Accel Superstock wire kit..

I bought the Universal 8 cylinder one.. it was like 24 bucks or something

they fit good, and you have extras if you need em

I DON'T WANT TO MAKE MY OWN

yes I know caps lock was on for a reason

DUDE YOU DONT HAVE TO

THEY EITHER SAY UNIVERSAL 8 CYLINDER (WHICH ARE PRE MADE)OR MAKE YOUR OWN IN BIG LETTERS ON THE FRONT OF THE BOX

oh yea and I realized my caps lock were on too

lol

:D

It sounds like you might have gotten EA81 engine wires, they tend to be too short as the distributor is on the right rear of the engine instead of directly in the center like ea81's.

Since you have an 85 thats highly likely to be confused due to the overlap in models of GL.

I haven't heard of the brand of wires you are talking about though. A google search left me wondering if you were talking about taylorcables.com but I couldn't see anything that was Specifically for a Subaru on their site.

AdvanceAuto has an inexpensive brand called Xact that tends to have OEM length wires and lifetime guarantee. $14 with tax or so.

Napa Belden part# is 700731 - $21.99 red sheet price

If that part number you gave first is for Taylor, I think you are missing a digit in it? My Taylor book does not list application data for Subies, so I can't help there.

Lengths on the Belden set:

11, 13, 32, 36, and 10 coil

CC is Carol Cable Company I tried them because 3yr warranty and only $10

Is red sheet price a discount?

I want the wires cheap., am still running my origional factory set

NGK wires alwasy fit well for me and last a lot longer than most brands. they have more durable insulation. no too long too short BS either. the napa Belden wires are not bad if you cannot find NGK.

another one I have heard of but not used yet are the magnacore wires. supposed to be really good.

if your running an accel coil, use accel wires..

like I said early..

that 8 cylinder premade univseral set is perfect for our cars

you get 2 sets of wires for the 4 cylinder for like 24 bucks

can't beat that

go to the link that I posted and click on ignition wires. thats just a place I found on line. I get them from my local parts store.

went to Jockos, couldn't find, looked on net at napa, oreilly, no luck

which parts stores sells them?

I get them from a independent shop localy. If you cant do that just order the ones from online. shipping should not be too bad.
