Seat fit question

Featured Replies

I found a guy who has seats from an 88 GL-10 sedan about 2 hours from me. Does anyone have any experience putting seats like that into an older Subaru? (mine is the 82 GLF coupe) What needs to be done to make them fit?

The bottom rails need to be swapped.

The passenger seat is easy, but the drivers is a pain because its height adjustable. You will need to drill out some rivets to get the rails off it and put on the GLF seat.

Thanks for that! Does anyone know if I can have any hope at all of the back seat fitting?

The 88 rear seat is too wide as the EA82 body is wider.

The fronts are relatively easy if you can weld. The glf rails will have to be mounted closer together than the 88 rails were as the seats are built wider by about 1.5". I weld adapter brackets (short sections of flat bar) to the seat frame and then bolt on the EA81 rails.
