No, theres nothing cheap you can do. They come from the factory pretty gutless.

You can however, get a Weber carb and adapter for it.

Which will make it somewhat quicker, but no speed demon.

Nothing cheep. Convert it to fuel injection which costs a couple hundred. Or swap to a EJ engine for about 50 or so more hp and torque. Or swap a weber carb on ther but thats not cheep either. These are econo boxes not ment for speed. Thats not to say it cant be done but it is expensive. First things first i would suggest is to make sure your car is running good. These cars only have like 95hp. If everything is working right then you need to one of the above 3. But like i said there not cheep.

^^^ I 2nd that ^^^^ and 3rd that

The best option is to swap in the SPFI injection for about $200 - but it does require some skills - mostly electrical. The next best option is the weber at around $400 to $500. It makes similar power, is easier to install but harder to tune and more expensive.

Beyond that there is the EJ series engines from the newer legacy cars. That generally runs into the $1000+ range.

Hi,

You could check the rubber hose that activates the secondary of the carburetor.

I drove one for a while on just the primary side of the carb. Old hose had a hole in it.

You can pick up a weber for 50 to 100 on craigslist also you can buy the adaptor from redline for 25 and if it needs rebuilt another 25 and it is self explanatory to hook up then you get to plug all of you vaccum lines and still pass deq it is a good setup
