another 92 loyale mechanical Problem ((Problem found?))

Featured Replies

Hello, my dads 92 Loyale 3AT has another problem, as he described to me, when the gas pedal is pushed white smoke shoots out the exhaust and the engine makes a ratteling sound, both dissapear when he lets off the gas.

damn that car sucks.

And does the seal between the front diff and the transmission look like a black plastic ring about 6.5cm in diameter with a 4.25 cm hole?

-AK.

Check the dipstick - overfull with milkshake looking oil, I'll bet!

does anybody know about the ring?

Isn't there some sort of solenoid on the side of the transmission that can contribute to this white smoke condition. Don't remember why but the parts dept sold me this part in response to a similar complaint.... probably could have just as well sold me muffler bearings!

Had a condition of white smoke on hard right turns and Sub knows about this and has a fix that prevents drawback (of oil?)through the PVC system.

Just trying to be helpful and prevent you from shooting your car tonight (wait for daylight).

Good luck.

The seal between the transmission and the diff is just a paper gasket that has a similar profile to the mating surfaces.

the smoke and rattle, it does it in any direction and even in park.

I was asking about the disk, cause I found half of it in the tranny oil pan awhile ago.

and I think the seal in the diff is shot.

It was blueish smoke sorry, we talked with a local place, they say it is the modulator, when it goes bad it lets A.t. Fluid get sucked into the intake manifold by its vacuume, the check is to pull the line off of it and check if atf comes out, walah! atf fluid.

they said it is a dealer only part.

how much am i going to get overcharged for it?

Go to N.A.P.A.

They usually have them in stock for about $22

Hush

OK I thought they called it a solenoid but that modulator is the item I was referring to. The dealer part was about $38US. Piece of cake to install. The muffler bearings are on back order......
