June 24, 200916 yr Author na na na i like the idea you have going but the car is too new frog. yes nothng is set in stone this is just another one of my projects starting out just as the coupe i have now was it will be done when i get all the peices and some spare time to do it chopping a brat rear and fitting it to a coupe or something thats alot alot alot of work i know you may think its the right way to do it but honestly the brat is already a truck no reson to use it on something els. chopping a subaru coupe,xt6,imp is something different thats what im about i assure you bill and i will make it strong some people seriously under estimate how strong the subframe really is and it wont take much to make it safe and strong oh and most of all look bittchen not wanting to step on toes i really like all the feed back thanks guys this thread will keep going rob:)
June 24, 200916 yr How about this? Only problem I see here, is people will mistake that for a Toyota -Bill
July 15, 200916 yr Author ok so looks like this might be goin into play sooner rather than later. screwdriver came in contact with on of the rear windows in my coupe not a good sight but no i think i will turn it in to a UTE
July 15, 200916 yr Author well soon ment today got bored and teh window getting broke treally PISSED so here you go pics got to this point after 4 hours. what do you think
July 15, 200916 yr You couldn't have gotten a new window?? Are you going to make it look clean and like it's supposed to be that way?
July 16, 200916 yr Author went and checked couldent find one under 200 bucks but the car has been chopped so there is no going back looks good i think. Yes it will be done right.
July 16, 200916 yr Rob, yea it does look cool! Why not do this to a wagon though? It would give you more bed space. Anyhoo can't wait to see if finished up, Best of luck! -Tom
July 16, 200916 yr Author would have BUT... wagons have smaller doors plus i would need to weld up the rear doors and its just alot of work lol. but it will be cool indeed Rob.
July 16, 200916 yr Oh yea, forgot about the rear doors lol. Yea I agree a RX is the best idea for as little work. -Tom
July 16, 200916 yr If you want to think about an XT/6 coupe, you can have my XT-T shell, but it would be missing the suspension all around (rear trailing arm too) and some interior bits. Figure I might offer since I'm just going to chop it up anyway.
July 16, 200916 yr Author no thanks P. Bill and i talked about that and figured with the Wall between the trunk, and the back seats removed it would be really week compared to the coupe.
July 19, 200916 yr htautos did it: ah, you little bugger lol! i was gonna find that, they made that quite a few years ago me thinks, up in north in manchester, they specialise in making widebody 22b replicas for normal imprezas the ironic thing is the drawing looks pretty much exactly the same as the photo!
July 23, 200916 yr I had the same idea. Had a bit of a play with photoshop and this was what i came up with. Before: 1988 Touring wagon, 3" lift kit, 215/80/15's After: Lifted L Series ute I thought it turned out ok. What do you think? Cheers Rob PS. This is my first post. Hi from Australia
July 23, 200916 yr Author hi! welcom to the USMB i have a thread in old gen with my coupe getting work done on it. i really like your Pic thanks Rob.

Hi from Australia Welcome to the board! Nice photoshop, Ive seen 2 rigs actually done like that, one came out very well done, the other one, not so much... The ony drawback of starting with a wagon for this chop is the small doors and the window angle is all wrong. This time, by starting with a Coupe, we will get a much nicer overall finish and things will be more proportional. -Bill
July 23, 200916 yr Welcome to the board! Very nice L-Series, looks down right niffty with the 6-lug conversion. Hope to see more of ur wagon. Nice photo chop btw, Bill is right though. Starting with a Coupe' is easier, you don't need to tend with the rear doors. But still looks cool -Tom PS: Have you heard of AUSubaru.com? Its an Australian Subaru group. I like it very much, great people just like on here.
