You couldn't have gotten a new window?? Are you going to make it look clean and like it's supposed to be that way?

went and checked couldent find one under 200 bucks but the car has been chopped so there is no going back looks good i think. Yes it will be done right.

Rob, yea it does look cool! Why not do this to a wagon though? It would give you more bed space. Anyhoo can't wait to see if finished up, Best of luck!

would have BUT... wagons have smaller doors plus i would need to weld up the rear doors and its just alot of work lol. but it will be cool indeed

Rob.

Oh yea, forgot about the rear doors lol. Yea I agree a RX is the best idea for as little work.

If you want to think about an XT/6 coupe, you can have my XT-T shell, but it would be missing the suspension all around (rear trailing arm too) and some interior bits. Figure I might offer since I'm just going to chop it up anyway.

no thanks P. Bill and i talked about that and figured with the Wall between the trunk, and the back seats removed it would be really week compared to the coupe.

htautos did it:

ah, you little bugger lol! i was gonna find that, they made that quite a few years ago me thinks, up in north in manchester, they specialise in making widebody 22b replicas for normal imprezas

the ironic thing is the drawing looks pretty much exactly the same as the photo!

I had the same idea. Had a bit of a play with photoshop and this was what i came up with.

Before: 1988 Touring wagon, 3" lift kit, 215/80/15's

After: Lifted L Series ute

I thought it turned out ok. What do you think?

Cheers Rob

Welcome to the board!

Nice photoshop, Ive seen 2 rigs actually done like that, one came out very well done, the other one, not so much...

The ony drawback of starting with a wagon for this chop is the small doors and the window angle is all wrong. This time, by starting with a Coupe, we will get a much nicer overall finish and things will be more proportional.

-Bill

Welcome to the board! Very nice L-Series, looks down right niffty with the 6-lug conversion. Hope to see more of ur wagon.

Nice photo chop btw, Bill is right though. Starting with a Coupe' is easier, you don't need to tend with the rear doors. But still looks cool :)
