Best place to buy EA81 transmission mounts

Featured Replies

I'm at the point where they need to be replaced if I want to drive the car. Does anyone have a good lead or price on these little buggers? I just wan the car back on the road, not suggestions on some kind of swap of fix, I just want the problem gone.

Search under 1983 station wagon IIRC

They used to be dirt cheap

Found them. For future reference, they are under "Engine", "Engine Mounts", "Rear with M/T", and yes they are cheap, approx $11 per mount.

Yup im running a set of them in my car now. Not sure if they are just a pain in the butt to put in because they are aftermarket or because they are just a tight fit but i ended up dropping the crossmember, bolting it on to the tranny without the crossmember and then bolting the cross back in place.

because they are aftermarket

Yeah - they don't fit very well but for the savings involved it's worth the hassle. I had to grind a bit on the bolt holes to get them to line up on at least one side as the bolt pattern is too narrow IIRC. They do the job though and the alternative is quite a bit of work:
