July 27, 200916 yr 01 Forest strange interior lighting problem The doom light will not come on when ya open the doors anymore. The blub is good, when switched to ON, it comes on, but inthe middle settings for the doors, nothing. Have check all the obvious stuff and nadda
July 27, 200916 yr Some of the switches are set up with the middle position being ''OFF'' and the ''DOOR'' position at the end opposite that of ''ON''. Edited July 27, 200916 yr by OB99W
July 27, 200916 yr Author Nope, this one is ON-*-Off The dot* being for the doors position in the middle.
July 27, 200916 yr Author Hmmm never noticed that, Ill look later when it gets back home. Not a ubar big deal, just annoying when ya can't see getting in.
July 28, 200916 yr Does it not come on when the just the drivers door is open or does it not come on no matter which door is open?
July 28, 200916 yr Author Does it not come on when the just the drivers door is open or does it not come on no matter which door is open? I can hear you laughing now, yep. Open other doors and the light comes on, only the drivers door doens't turn it on. [ So Im bettin its something I did but didn't know I did??? Some special feature of the car?

Some special feature of the car? play with, wiggle the door switch. does the 'door open' indicator on the dash light up when the driver door is open??
July 28, 200916 yr Author I couldn't find anything in the dark last night, even today in the light I couldn't find anything. Only thing I found was an odd empty hole in the door jam. Check the other door and WTF. The drivers door switch is beyond broke, its gone??? Nothing there at all, just the empty hole in the door jam. Do people steal them things? Someone "nicked" the hub cover on the tires before.
July 28, 200916 yr Author Closer inspection: the ones for the back have an extra hunk of plastic for a screw to help hold it in place. As it could get bumped more where it is. But cheaped out using them up front too. Might just end up stealing one from the back to use. [Rear pass door, lest used door of them all by a driver.]
July 30, 200916 yr Scavenging one of your other doorpins will certainly work, but this should be a super-easy fix if you are so inclined. The wiring for your driver doorpin will be easy to find after the kick panel is removed (especially if it still has half a doorpin attached ) and as long as you have ground trigger doorpins (which I believe you do) any plunger style switch of the right diameter would work. These can be had for very cheap. Good luck!
July 30, 200916 yr It broke and fell down inside the pillar. Get a flash light and look in there I bet its floating around in there, you can hook it with a coat hanger and fish it out. Or you might be able to get to it by removing the inside pillar cover/ kick panel.
July 31, 200916 yr Author I haven't had a chance to tear into it, its to mobile. But I could see the power connector in the hole. Like the switch was pulled straight out.
