August 1, 200916 yr what would cause number 2 cylinder to fill with oil over night not a lot but just enough to make it smoke for a mile and the plug is oil fouled as well. all other holes are clean and spark plugs are the color the should be.... compression is 125 for all 4 holes I'm stumped my brother says valve guides but i dunno plus, if you pull it up over 4k it smokes like a chimney to oh its a ea81 with FI swap if it matters
August 1, 200916 yr Weren't you having PCV issues a little while ago? The line routing and the way the car was parked are the first two things I'd look at. It doesn't take much oil to make a lot of smoke, especially once raw oil gets into the exhaust.
August 1, 200916 yr Author i can park it anywhere and it will do it if it sits for an extended amount of time i replaced the pcv with a fram which is probably a no no but its only getting oil in the number 2 hole
August 1, 200916 yr Check the PCV hose on that side to see if its plugged up. Run a wire or coat hanger thru it and see if a bunch of carbon, etc comes out. And the next time I see you, I'm going to kick you in the shin for putting Fram parts on your car
August 1, 200916 yr Author hahaha i know its bad but it's all i could get why would the pcv hose clogged put oil in the cylinder?
August 1, 200916 yr Author pcv system is clear although there was oil in all of the lines and also does anyone in the Seattle area wanna adjust my hydro lifter setup after redoing the head gaskets they've been loud but i don't understand how to adjust em hah... August 1, 200916 yr Author i just replaced valve stem seals and head gaskets i think 5k ago and it started smoking like this after the first thousand
August 2, 200916 yr The valve oiler on that cylinder must be sticking after it sits and free's up after you run it. Maybe its from the fart can you put on it. Jacob remember when we were lapping the valves in, and the valves rocked in the guides. We can pull the heads back off I have the valve grinder and guide knurlers now. August 2, 200916 yr I suggest you replace the PCV valve again with a OEM one. Check the air filter to see if it is getting oil on it. If so the PCV valve is the problem most likely.
August 3, 200916 yr i'm not having any problems with my fram PCV Bad juju Why would the pcv cause 1 cylinder to oil foul? It probably has the biggest gaps in the valve guides.
August 3, 200916 yr Author no worries it picked up a rod knock today time to put in the other engine i have....
