My "Show" Brat makes it to WCSS11 and back!

Featured Replies

My '84 Brat which I bought 4 or 5 years ago has been a primary resident of our garage for all of that time. It's only been on the road for emergencies and a recent repair to the AC system (thanks Scoobywagon). I never drove it more than 20 miles at one time until now.

Anyway, it's a pleasure to drive a Brat that isn't old and crotchety. 450 miles round trip and the car behaved wonderfully. AC is working nicely, the engine never came close to overheating, transmission shifts smoothly and has no howls, and shocks work nicely. The Brat ran quietly enough that one time I looked down at the speedo and found I was doing eighty!

224 miles on the return trip in 3-1/2 hours of actual drive time; fully loaded with stuff and two of us in the car; we still got 28 mpg for our gas consumption.

Too bad that I need to sell it; I need the garage space. Watch for an ad in the classified forum soon.

Got any more pictures?

Of the Brat, or of the WCSS11?

Yes I do, but it takes me to long to re-size them to post on the USMB, plus the USMB limits how many I can post now.

Here's the Show Brat:

hey ED nice brat and it was nice to meet you at the show !! :)

Rob

Likewise.:)

Ed thank your wife again for giving me the shirt off her back (literally),

Thats awesome Ed! My Brat made the 1400miles round trip without a hickup. Of course, not as quietly as yours, but I was still suprised :)

What about the battery issue

That doesnt count. Just turned out that the negative battery clamp was too large, and alittle help from the wheel weight on my spare... problem solved :)

I was expecting to at least change a wheel bearing somewhere in the middle of Oregon.
