Ok, So it is progress, albeit codswalloping nerve racking at that.
Please note that the tubing holding things together is not necessarily placed whee it will stay...
No turning back now!!!

Gotta see where she is gonna sit.ish....

Fish plating partially welded. One side almost done.

T-casew ia almost lined up in it's stock position.

But just a couple inches higher.

Defenitely not super proud of my upside down welds, but you try it !
lol

Gotta make those damn elusive motor mounts next.
overall view

I think thats all I have for now.

Very cool, I've never seen a patch of frame replaced with tube like that....but I've seen the whole front clip made of tube....so I don't see why it won't work. Pretty cool idea to make a little extra clearance! And it looks like it's given you quite a bit of room where you needed it.
Excellent work
It is already changing ....
As I sit here and look at the horrible body mounts,
and uneven hacking of the frame mounts ,
the disfigured, not all the way welded, defunct
steering box mount...
and ugly azz bumper...

I am thinking tube .Lots , and lots Of tube.
Still maintaining fenders, and a hood . Maybe even try to squeeze a grill back in there...
ha d a friend cut some stuff out on his Plasma table. He welded up a base hanger for me, and I added a 2x2x1/4" mounting surface for some Tube.

Then bought some 1.75" DOM.
When I get back at her, It's gonna be epic.

However times are looking up, and I am enjoying the time I get to spend on it.
I think I can get the front straightened out pretty quick here, now that the base measurements have worked out. I was slightly retarded because I forgot to put the plumb bobs down before I cut the front of the frame off.DOH!!!

Looks cool. Keep it going, I want to see what happens. It looks like it's going to be super custom, the kind where guys squint to see it far off 'cause they can tell it's built. Looks like your making an awesome approach angle, but I still can't quite tell exactly where you're going with it.
