newsooby
Wow -- this was a little disappointing -- 15% chance of a rollover if your Outback is involved in a single car accident! http://aolsvc.news.aol.com/news/article.adp?id=20040810101209990006 Thoughts? MorganM
Air up your tires to the max and I bet you could knock off a % point Er here I found another link you dont have to log into http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/ncap/ Thx !_!
Flowmastered87GL
What are the stats on a Ford Escape?? Actually I think 15% is pretty good... you do something stupid yourself and have an accident alone, 85% chance you wont tip it! I bet most SUV's are a heck of a lot higher. nickb21
Legacy's still had an 11% chance, almost 5 stars. I wonder if the VDC wagons do better.
powderhound
Mazda RX8 had the best test results with an 8% chance. So 15 isn't bad. I don't know what you would have to do to roll an rx8 those things are pretty low and wide.
MailManX
Don't get into an accident and you knock off nearly 15%. Actually, 15% sounds pretty decent to me, too. It sure beats the heck out of the nearly 100% rollover potential of a Ford Exploder.
MorganM
Who rated it specifically at 15% tho? Here is how their rating system works: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/Rollover/ratingsub_interpret.htm 4 stars "Has a risk of rollover between 10% and 20%" Couldnt one argue its more like 10% than 20% or 15%? Equalizer
I hate to say that chances are low, or anything like that, because next thing it could be me. However, I drive my OB like a rally car on some extremely curvy paved roads. With the right tires, I've always been pleased w/how it handles despite talk to the contrary on some threads. On the other hand, I've driven Doc Death's (my ex-girlfiend's father) OB, same year, etc, just has different tires and an auto tranny, and it handles like a Chevy Blazer. I don't know if its the tires or the auto slip differential or the combo, but it'll roll if I drove it the same as my boy. eq
