I got this contact from the excellent XT-6 site, www.xt6.net

This dealer has the brushes and fluid in stock for the XT-6 cybrid steering. (My dealer didn't even know what an XT-6 was and didn't have a listing for steering parts or fluid, they said I would have to buy the whole pump for $775 and fill it with ATF---LOL) They were cordial and responsive to email and shipped my stuff quickly.

I think these prices are good, I'm just glad to have this stuff:

$40.06 Cybrid fluid
$14.00 Brushes
$12.00 Shipping

Those are the Canadian prices, it was $54 total USD, should of bought this stuff 6 months ago (when the exchange rate was better!).

how many cars do you know of that use the stuff? the good thing about it is that is seems to leak less than the standard powersteering.

cybrid power steering fluid is only used on the XT6, nothing else. i've also called subaru dealers that had no clue about the XT6 power steering pump and had no idea about the special fluid. XT6 owners beware. don't listen to everything you hear...even if it's from a Subaru dealer.

It is actually referred to as "liquid gold"

I may have paid a bit more than market price but the service was incredible and i'm just glad to have a jug of the stuff.

I might also add that it's $15 because I get a discount now (of $5 for PS fluid)

right. i'm sure there are plenty of knowledgable folks that work for subaru, i just haven't met one in person yet. XT6 hasn't been on the market for almost 15 years and there aren't many, so it's easy to run across subaru employees that know nothing about it.

Yeah, they don't know what an RX is either, I went for pats yesterdy and the conversation went something like this:

Me
Do you have o rings for my injectors?

Parts girl
What kind of car is it?

Me
1987 Subaru RX turbo

Parts girl
Is it a GL?

Me
No it's an RX

Parts girl (head tilted, dumb look, scratching blonde haired head)
The Mazda dealer is across the street...

LOL!
