Been workin on Smoke a little bit lately.. got it down to needing new rubber fuel lines.. a fuel pump relay.. and preferrably a better fuel pump than one out of an ea82. It needs some suspension work as the air system is a bit glitchy right now.

There it is.. up on blocks.. You can see the GT off to the right and Lurch in the back. That's Jessicas Honda Accord SW in the back.

Anyway... I'm dying to have this car on the road. Really the only question I have at this point is about the hood not closing flush... Is it possible it was in a minor front end collision and bent the hood supports? Or something weird bent the hood supports?? If anyone has any XT6 with a hood that close flush could you snap some pics of the bracket mount area inside the engine bay?? I think mine is bent.. but I don't want to try to "unbend" it if it's not bent.. ya know.

You can try and adjust the bottom latch, loosen it and drop it down some.

u did a very good job cleaning the engine.nice work, its comin along. i also thought about the ruber bumpers because mine wern't adjusted correctly when i got the car.

Yeah it has 'em. Round dough nut looking things.

I've found that fantastik does a great job considering it is CHEAP and a good grease cutter. Not sure what he used here but for an engine bay, esp a white engine bay it works wonders.

Dish Soap (with bleach alternative), Carb Cleaner, Water & Compressed Air.

Dying for a steam cleaner to get the tougher grease you can't see in the pics...

Whatever you do, dont use dishsoap on the exterior paint. It leaches out the oils in the paint and dulls the finish.

Thanks for the tip... I usually use laundry detergent on the exterior... any good suggestions??

Sure, you can buy the good stuff at any parts store. Most major wax brands make it.
